bio

Once upon a time, deep within the forest and tucked inside of a straw bale cabin, there lived an outcast Graphic Designer and Illustrator named Emily Beamer. Like Snow White, but with tattoos, Emily like to talk with the birds and deer in the forest. And nothing made Emily happier than graphic design and illustration, although sometimes large earrings and Dolly Parton come awfully close.

Emily Beamer has her own Graphic Design and Illustration company based in Winlaw British Columbia, Canada, where she works with clients both locally and worldwide. Emily naturally has a strong creative vision, and believes in unique yet practical designs that suit the client's need. Her print design specializes in CD packaging, posters, small books, clothing hang-tags, product packaging, and company promotion. Her illustrations are hand carefully hand-rendered with a fine attention to detail. She specializes in illustrating botany, anatomy, and natural science. Emily loves to sit in the forest and draw plants.

Emily has a Bachelor Degree in Communication Design from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver. She also apprenticed for two terms at Nettwerk Music Group, in Vancouver, with its award-winning Artwerks Design team. In 2007 one of her poster designs later made a special cameo on an episode of The L Word on Showtime Television, USA.

In 2008 Emily won bronze place for the worldwide Illustration contest for the Tokyo Japan based Graniph T-Shirt Company, featured in Nylon Magazine. Emily was additionally chosen by the Graphic Designers of Canada to participate in the 2008 Design Kootenays Show. Please view the Recognition link below for more of Emily’s awards.

And she lived happily ever after in the forest with deer and unicorns!
